Current Volunteer Opportunities
The men and women who volunteer across our services and departments make a world of a difference. We could not deliver the services we offer without their generous support and dedication.
We have long term (up to six months) and occasional volunteering roles in our services, shop, fundraising events and administration teams. Some volunteer roles may need skills, but mostly all we need is passion and a desire to make a difference.

Collection, Disposal & DIY Volunteer (Property Department)
Support COPE Galway, property team with arranging collections and disposal of items in other departments and organising the monthly disposal service of small items.

Volunteer Cleaner (Charity Shop Newtownsmith)
To clean and organise the shop retail area, storeroom, kitchen, and bathroom.

Volunteer Delivery Driver (Newtownsmith & Augustine St)
Drive COPE Galway vehicle for collection and delivery of furniture donations.

Volunteer Kitchen Assistant
Volunteer with our Community Catering service team who prepare nutritious meals for older people and those who are unable to prepare meals for themselves.

Volunteer Street Outreach (Homeless Service)
Support and assist our Day Centre Project Worker staff involved in street outreach work for the purpose of engaging with people who are rough sleeping in Galway City and signposting and supporting them to link with relevant services in the community.

Volunteer at the COPE Galway Christmas Swim
On the 25th December hundreds of enthusiastic swimmers will head to Blackrock, Salthill to take a dip and support COPE Galway Christmas Swim. You can help to make this vital fundraising event successful by volunteering for 1 or 2 hours. Please sign up for a slot and help make this special event run as smoothly as possible, raising much needed funds for COPE Galway.
