Accessing Senior Support Services during COVID-19
COPE Galway Senior Services are current operating with Coronavirus Covid-19 prevention and social distancing measures in place. Clients, or anyone looking to access the services, are advised to first call the service if you need support.
We now have a helpline – 085 87 67 785, for older people in Galway who need practical support during the current COVID-19 crisis.

Sonas Day Centre is open but with restricted hours and numbers. Please call 091 753 402 to find out first .
Lunch Clubs are not taking place until current restrictions have been lifted and it is safe to do so.
Our menu offers a variety of succulent roasts, poultry dishes, stews, fish, vegetarian and ethnic dishes accompanied with fresh vegetables and potatoes. The menu rotates every day.
Flexible Choices and Cost
Meals cost €7 only for a two-course meal. Delivery is free. Our service is flexible. Clients can use it for a couple of days per week, on weekends only, as a short-term option or a longer term support.
Some key attributes are:
- A variety of daily menu options.
- Catering for dietary needs e.g. coeliac, diabetic, renal, etc.
- Catering to clients who require easy food to swallow.
- A client-centred service.
The service is great. I know my mother is getting a nutritious dinner every day and the volunteers are checking in on her. It is reassuring as I live away and can’t be there.
