Waterside House Women’s Refuge

Waterside House Domestic Abuse Refuge

COPE Galway Waterside Women’s Refuge provides safe emergency accommodation for women and children who need a place to go, to stay safe from abuse.

It offers women, who take the step to leave an abusive home, a safe place to stay while they consider their next steps and explore the options available to them. Our residents have the space to reflect and make decisions on what’s best for them and do so without fear, pressure and while free from abuse.

Each family has their own sleeping/living space and shared bathrooms. The refuge is staffed 24 hours a day and women are encouraged to avail of the support of the staff members during their stay.

I get up in the morning and the sun is shining and I just love it. I love that I can cycle and go whoever way I want. I can talk to people, I can talk to other mothers and there’s nothing stopping me.
