Stryve Secure: Corporate Charity Partnership

Stryve Secure: Corporate Charity Partnership

Our partnership with Stryve Secure is a strong example of how collaboration, driven from leadership level, can create meaningful and lasting impact.

“As local employers, we feel it’s important to support our local community,” says Stryve CEO Andrew Tobin. “We give financial support, but we like to roll our sleeves up too.”

From the outset, this commitment was led from the top. The relationship began in December 2024 when Managing Director Gillian Moody reached out to COPE Galway to explore partnership opportunities, reflecting a clear organisational priority to engage meaningfully with the community. Following an in-person meeting in January 2025, a partnership was established with Stryve Secure that combined event participation, skills-based volunteering, and hands-on support – all actively backed by senior leadership at the organisation.

This leadership-led approach ensured strong engagement across Stryve Secure. Early involvement from staff increased understanding of COPE Galway’s services and encouraged teams to think creatively about how their professional skills could make a tangible difference.

Over the year, Stryve Secure employees became involved in a variety of ways, both individually and as teams.

Charity Shop Volunteering

The partnership with Stryve Secure kicked off in March 2025 when a group volunteered in the COPE Galway Charity Shop in Newtownsmith, where a team from Stryve Secure helped sort and prepare donations.

“I’d never have thought of spending a day in a charity shop as a team-building activity, but it was great craic,” one team member shared.

“Being in the background, sorting through donations, organising stock and helping in the shop was a real feel-good project. It felt good to do good, and as I work from home most of the time, I really valued the chance to connect with colleagues too.”

Cyber Safety Booklet

A standout example of Stryve Secure’s expertise in action was the development of a cyber safety booklet for clients of COPE Galway’s Domestic Abuse Service. Working closely with frontline staff, the team created a clear, practical and survivor-focused guide addressing how technology can be used as a tool of control by perpetrators. The guide provides simple, actionable steps to help women protect their devices, accounts and online privacy, including guidance on password management, identifying spyware, covering online tracks and safely storing evidence of abuse.

Paul Delahunty, Stryve Secure’s Chief Information Security Officer, noted that working on the project broadened his perspective:

“As a man, I’d never thought about those sorts of things before. Working on this project expanded my view of the online dangers experienced by different people. I hope the guide helps those who need it to take steps to stay safe.”

The booklet is now actively used within COPE Galway Domestic Abuse services, supporting women in regaining digital safety as part of their journey to safety.

Cybersecurity Workshop

Further demonstrating leadership in action, Paul also delivered an in-person cybersecurity workshop for COPE Galway’s senior management team. The session received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with attendees highlighting the practical value, engaging delivery, and lasting impact of the training.

Business Leaders Sleep Out

At CEO level, Andrew Tobin led by example through direct participation in the Business Leaders Sleep Out, spending a cold December night on Shop Street to raise awareness of homelessness. His involvement not only helped raise over €3,000 but also sent a powerful message across the organisation about the importance of social responsibility and leading from the front.

This visible commitment from senior leadership has been instrumental in fostering a culture of engagement within Stryve Secure. The company has remained proactively involved throughout the partnership, regularly keeping in touch, sharing ideas and identifying new ways to support COPE Galway.

Reflecting on the experience, Andrew Tobin noted that his employees “gain empathy from getting stuck into this kind of hands-on work and appreciate the opportunity to do something meaningful on behalf of others.”

“We’re definitely considering doing more such work in future.”

This partnership highlights the value of combining leadership, expertise, teamwork and hands-on volunteering. With strong direction and genuine commitment from CEO level down, Stryve Secure has made a meaningful and lasting contribution to the local community.
