€1 More Brings a Meal to the Door: Meals on Wheels Initiative During Positive Ageing Week 2018

COPE Galway Community Catering’s third annual “€1 More” initiative takes place in participating restaurants and cafés across Galway this week for Positive Aging Week (1st – 7th October 2018).

Customers in participating restaurants and cafés (see list below) have the option to add “€1 More” to the price of their meal, with all donations going to COPE Galway Community Catering Meals on Wheels service for older people in Galway.

The “€1 More” initiative is about providing meals and assistance to older people most in need in Galway who cannot afford meals for themselves. Every day, COPE Galway Community Catering prepares fresh and healthy meals in their award-winning kitchen for over 200 older people across Galway city and county. Last year they delivered over 50,000 meals across Galway with the help of volunteer drivers who provide important social contact.

COPE Galway and participating restaurants would like to encourage anyone eating out this week to select participating restaurants during Positive Aging Week 2018 and give “€1 More” towards our meals for older people. Your generosity goes far beyond the meal.

This year’s participating restaurants and cafe’s are:

  • Anfora – Abbeygate Street
  • Café Rosco’s – Eglinton Street
  • Café Temple – Augustine Street
  • C’est La Vie – Terryland
  • Le Petit Délice Café – Mainguard Street

  • Pascal Coffee House – The Grainstore
