Homeless Services for Individuals

Support and services for individual men and women

If you are an individual man or woman who is homeless, or at risk of homelessness, we offer support and services to help you.

We understand that everyone’s situation is complex and unique to them. When you contact COPE Galway for support, our key workers will work with you to assess your particular situation and support you in mapping your pathway out of homelessness.

If your family is homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, go to our Family Support Services for information about available services and support for families.

Steps to take if you are homeless

Register with your local authority

If you are resident in Galway and currently homeless, you need to first register as homeless with the relevant Galway City or County housing department.  You need to have registered with your local council to be eligible for available homeless services and support.

If you need urgent accommodation outside their operating hours, contact one of our Emergency Accommodation Services.

Access emergency accommodation

We operate two 24-hour emergency accommodation services – the Fairgreen Hostel for men who are sleeping rough or homeless, and Osterley Lodge homeless women.

Contact the COPE Galway Day Centre

After you have registered as homeless with your local housing authority, contact the COPE Galway Teach Corrib Day Centre.

The Day Centre offers a range of support services. These include homeless prevention, emergency accommodation, support with accessing your entitlements, finding new accommodation, health services, and a range of other supports based your specific needs.
