COVID-19 Response Volunteering
We would like also to say a big, heartfelt thank you to our team of incredible volunteers who are providing exceptional support across COPE Galway services, especially at this time.
We are also very grateful for the huge outpouring of support from many in our community who are offering to volunteer and help out with our COVID-19 response.
At the moment, we are assessing our current needs and should we require additional volunteer support in the coming weeks, we will reach out to everyone who has contacted us.
But some key considerations! It is important to safeguard your own health and well-being.
Are you well enough to volunteer?
The main priority is your safety and limiting the spread of Coronavirus. We encourage you to continue to adhere to the HSE’s latest instructions on how best to avoid getting and spreading COVID-19.
If you are feeling unwell or are in any of the at-risk categories, please prioritise your own well-being and do not offer to volunteer.
You will find information on at-risk groups from the HSE website, on this page – hse.ie/conditions/coronavirus/at-risk-groups.html.
This document from the National Action Plan on supporting a community response to COVID-19, sets out some useful guidelines and information on the Do’s and Don’ts for sensible volunteering in response to COVID-19.
If you need more information, please email our volunteer team – firstname.lastname@example.org.
