Family Olympics
If you’re at home with children – young or old – why not get a little competition going? You could set a challenge for your own kids – tire them out! – or connect with cousins and friends through video calls. It could be cooking, cleaning, or making something creative, 2000 trampoline bounces, count your steps, auction a painting – anything you can do at home and share on social media along with a donation link.
Your Birthday Celebration!
If you can’t go out to celebrate, why not donate your celebration? Invite friends and family to make a donation to COPE Galway with a Facebook fundraiser. You can set up your fundraiser with a few clicks and Facebook doesn’t take a cent: all the money comes to COPE Galway.
Personal Isolation Challenge
Grow a beard, shave your head, run a garden marathon. There are lots of different isolation challenges springing up – join in and have some fun – there is something fun for every generation! One of the most popular is the “Run 5 Donate 5 Nominate 5” – this challenge calls on people to run 5k, then donate €5 and nominate five others to do the same.
Have you given it up?
You could give what you give up – or have had to do without! What are you not spending money on while staying at home – Petrol? Coffee? Pedicures? Consider making a donation. Or you could up the ante, and choose to stay away from something – Chocolate? Wine? Online shopping? Share on social media and ask friends and family to sponsor you for the challenge.
