Can you help bring warmth, comfort and hope to those in need this Christmas?
Christmas should be a time of joy and celebration, but for the families, men and women COPE Galway supports, it can be the hardest time of the year as many struggle to afford the basics essentials.
This Christmas, you can help bring comfort and hope by donating gifts and essentials that people in our services need most. Your gifts will go directly to people in our community facing homelessness, domestic abuse and isolation.
How You Can Help
You, your company, school, or church can make a real difference by donating items from our Christmas Wish List or by taking part in the COPE Galway Gift Tag Initiative.
Our Christmas Wish List
We asked our services what items people needed most. Below is a list of essential items and gifts. Please donate new, unopened items only. Gift sets and practical items are especially appreciated.
Festive treats and sweets.
Boxes of chocolates (Roses, Quality Street, etc.). Biscuits, sweets, and selection boxes. Crisps or savoury snacks.
Toiletries and personal care
Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel
Deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, shaving foam
Sanitary pads, tampons
Hairbrushes, hair ties, dry shampoo
Skincare and hand cream
Make-up, nail sets, face masks
Toiletry or pamper gift sets
Nappies, wipes, nappy cream
Clothing and essentials for men and women
Pyjamas, socks, underwear
Warm clothes: jumpers, coats, hoodies, leggings, tracksuits
Hats, scarves, gloves, thermals
Comfortable shoes or runners
Dressing gowns or slippers

Bedding sets, duvets, pillowcases
Towels and face cloths
Warm throws or fleece blankets
Hot water bottles (with covers)
Small Christmas decorations or home décor
Practical and tech items
Basic mobile phones. Power banks and chargers. Earphones or small radios. Torches or alarm clocks. Holdall bags or backpacks. Hairdryers. Electric shavers.

Gift Tag Donations
Take part in our Gift Tag Initiative and fulfil a meaningful Christmas wish for a family, child, man or woman in our services.
We have collected the Christmas gift wishes of the people who are relying on COPE Galway services over the festive period. Each item they requested has been written on a tag, which you can take and then purchase the item on the tag. The gifts are generally priced between €20-€30.
