COPE Galway Historical Book
60 Years in Galway: Improving Lives, Strengthening Community, 1965–2025
60 Years in Galway is a historical, commemorative book that tells the story of COPE Galway, from its origins as the Galway Social Service Council in 1965 through to the professional, innovative organisation known today as COPE Galway.
The book documents the events, points and people that shaped the organisation. It covers the developments of COPE Galway services from responding to the needs of older people then, to the wide range of homeless, domestic abuse and senior support services today, and how services evolved in response to changing needs in the community.
60 Years in Galway is the history of COPE Galway, the history of Galway, and a celebration of what happens when the community comes together to make a difference.
Foreword by Michael D. Higgins, former President of Ireland.
