COPE Galway Day Centre
The Day Centre for homeless single people and/or families or those at risk of homelessness at Teach Corrib Day Centre, Seamus Quirke Road, Galway provides a range of services for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Galway City.
Services provided include:
- food and refreshments, personal care, laundry, clothes exchange
- housing information
- referral to emergency accommodation
- tenancy support for families including outreach support in a families own home
- advice on social welfare entitlements
- assistance with form filling
- access to a multi disciplinary team including general nurse, community mental health nurse, addiction counsellor, relapse prevention counsellor, chiropodist and dentist
- access to groups or one to one support regarding life skills, budgeting, literacy support, recreational activities, health promotion, confidence building
- Accompaniment to case conferences, appeal meetings etc…
- out of hours service for those who become homeless outside of office hours
- Information and advice service to the public on homelessness issues
The day centre is open Monday –Friday 8.30am -4.00pm excluding Wednesday 8.30am- 6.00pm and Saturday 8.30am -2.00pm. An Out of Hours referral service is available on 091 525259 (freephone from landline only on 1800 788887) –this service operates 7pm -11pm Monday –Sunday.

COPE Galway Fairgreen Hostel |

COPE Galway Fairgeen Hostel provides emergency accommodation and a range of support services for men experiencing homelessness at our Forster Street hostel in Galway City. The hostel provides accommodation and services for the residents. The services include meals, access to washing and laundry facilities, keyworking, access to weekly accommodation clinic, medical and addiction services for residents, meals for non-residents by referral and we work with COPE Galway resettlement service and other agencies to help source appropriate and secure accommodation for men. We use a harm reduction approach in the service, to ensure that we can provide the best service we can to the varying needs of those experiencing homelessness.

Cope Galway Osterley Lodge |

COPE Galway Osterley Lodge, located in Lower Salthill Galway, provides emergency accommodation for single women experiencing homelessness and support services for women at risk of homelessness. Accommodation is provided for up to 13 women. A family room is available for women with children.

The "Towards Independence project" Bridge House is a joint initiative between Cope Galway and Galway City Council. The aim of the project is to provide step down accommodation for single men who are homeless in emergency accommodation in COPE Galway Fairgreen Hostel.

The COPE Galway Resettlement & Tenancy Support Service provides structured support to men and women; • Moving out of homelessness to independent living • At risk of homelessness due to tenancy breakdown. This service can be accessed by people moving on from COPE Galway emergency services at Fairgreen Hostel, Osterley Lodge and Towards Independence Project and by people in contact with ‘Teach Corrib’ Day Centre who would benefit from support.
