History of COPE Galway Waterside HouseCOPE Galway Waterside House Refuge was established in June of 1981 and provides temporary safe accommodation for women and their children who experience Emotional, Physical or Sexual abuse within an intimate relationship. The refuge is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Since its inception in 1981, thousands of women and their children have availed of the service. The refuge works in close liaison with relevant back-up and support services, both Statutory and Voluntary.
