COPE Galway is committed to ensuring that they will carry out their activities in an environmentally friendly manner. We are determined that all options will be examined to ensure we preserve and protect the environment. We are currently working with the EPA under the Cleaner Greener Production Programme.

The charity recognises that they have a responsibility to protect the environment and be proactive in trying to reduce the carbon footprint of the organisation. Green procurement has made considerable saving for a number of company/organisation both environmentally and financially. The charity wants to strive forward in both incidences to ensure money collected is being spent as efficiently as possible.

The organisation recognises the three main contributors within the organisation that impacts on the environment as energy, water and waste.

We recognise that the energy consumption for the organisation has an impact on the environment. We will review all options available to ensure our carbon footprint has being reduced significantly.
COPE Galway is committed to reducing the quantity of waste it produces by waste segregation and staff awareness. The organisation is actively encouraging recycling to reduce the quantity going to landfill. We will continue to ensure that all options are examined for our packaging and that our environmental impact is reduced.

We are aware of our natural resources and the importance of preserving them. We are committed to reducing the water consumption throughout all the services in the organisation, and will strive to encourage other charitable establishments to follow this system to protect the environment.
